In the 3rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Capivara FC's goalkeeper Péter Pálffy, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Barcellos Mineiro FC were awarded a corner in the 4th minute after Capivara FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Amílton Loyola took the corner. In the 5th minute Barcellos Mineiro FC were awarded a corner. Amílton Loyola went to the cornerflag to take it. A well-hit corner resulted in Clóvis Vieira heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. Barcellos Mineiro FC's Clóvis Vieira quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Zhang Chen, made in the 8th minute of the game. Patricio Ugutz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Neycho Mudrov, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 23 played minutes Barcellos Mineiro FC got a freekick which was hit by Amílton Loyola. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Neycho Mudrov in the 23rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Patricio Ugutz saved Barcellos Mineiro FC from getting behind. 25 minutes into the match, Barcellos Mineiro FC's goal looked a bit too open when Neycho Mudrov came free, but Patricio Ugutz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Barcellos Mineiro FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 26th minute, when Mitchell Godwin scored to the left of an out of position Patricio Ugutz, making the score, 1-0. Barcellos Mineiro FC's Clóvis Vieira managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Malcolm Blue in the 29 minute of the game. Mitchell Godwin could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 31st minute of the match, but Patricio Ugutz made a huge save. 37 minutes into the match, Barcellos Mineiro FC's goal looked a bit too open when Vinícius Junior came free, but Patricio Ugutz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 38 minutes into the match, Dale Dolar had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Péter Pálffy. Capivara FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Dale Dolar was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Péter Pálffy came out of the goal in the 42nd minute to try and stop a shot by Barcellos Mineiro FC's Radul Kokalov. But to his dismay, Radul Kokalov quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Péter Pálffy took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Radul Kokalov, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Neycho Mudrov was the one to do the kick off. The supporters of Capivara FC booed when Barcellos Mineiro FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Michael Meertens didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Zhang Chen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Patricio Ugutz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Manoel Garrincha in the 53rd minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Vinícius Junior in the 58th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Patricio Ugutz saved Barcellos Mineiro FC from getting behind. Luisinho Uribe could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 62nd minute of the match, but Péter Pálffy made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dale Dolar in the 68th minute of play forced Capivara FC's goalkeeper Péter Pálffy to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Patricio Ugutz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Neycho Mudrov, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. Péter Pálffy took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dale Dolar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Capivara FC's zone, Dale Dolar stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Péter Pálffy came out of the goal and Dale Dolar tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Capivara FC's Doriva Tavares was substituted for Ragnar Stigsson. An unexpectedly hard shot by Radul Kokalov in the 82nd minute of play forced Capivara FC's goalkeeper Péter Pálffy to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Joaquim Xavier hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. After 87 played minutes, Barcellos Mineiro FC's Amílton Loyola shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Péter Pálffy came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Barcellos Mineiro FC reached it. If Dale Dolar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Mitchell Godwin in the 93rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Patricio Ugutz saved Barcellos Mineiro FC from getting behind. The Barcellos Mineiro FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Barcellos Mineiro FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
