The throw-in from Vitor Beckenbauer in the 23rd minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Joinville United - FSCMZ's Hilario Gurutz. Hilario Gurutz hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. Deilmison van Basten took the ball and in the 30 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Guilherme Catarinense. Guilherme Catarinense dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. After some fancy dribbling in the 32nd minute, Deilmison van Basten managed to get in a good position for a shot. ATHLETICO PRaiano's supporters rose to their feet, but Deilmison van Basten was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Guilherme Catarinense breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Unax Mudarra recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 38th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Joinville United - FSCMZ's Guilherme Catarinense played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Deilmison van Basten in the 45th minute of play.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Deilmison van Basten was the one to do the kick off. The supporters of ATHLETICO PRaiano booed when Joinville United - FSCMZ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dércio Valentim didn't get a good kick on the ball. Guilherme Catarinense took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Deilmison van Basten, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Deilmison van Basten in the 56th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Guilherme Catarinense saved Joinville United - FSCMZ from getting behind. After having played for 80 minutes, Deilmison van Basten managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. ATHLETICO PRaiano's supporters crossed their fingers, but Deilmison van Basten was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 85th minute Deilmison van Basten shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Guilherme Catarinense saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rodriguinho Sousa stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Maurício Donatello's shot from short distance in the 90th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jacek Krzynowek in the 95th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rodriguinho Sousa saved ATHLETICO PRaiano from getting behind. ATHLETICO PRaiano were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Joinville United - FSCMZ for a fine match.
