Sporting Burgas's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Luís Falcão ran over to the corner to take the kick. André Carmo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Antonio Fioriti in the 15th minute of play. Antonio Fioriti's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but André Carmo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 21st minute of play. Seve Sevilla made a great header on Sporting Burgas's corner, it was just that Ponte do Carro's André Carmo managed to reach the ball for a save. After some careless play in the Ponte do Carro defense, Antonio Fioriti kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of André Carmo. The Ponte do Carro fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that André Carmo should have stopped the shot. In the 31stth minute of the game Antonio Fioriti who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ponte do Carro's André Carmo was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Ponte do Carro's Loukianos Livas slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Álvaro Perpiñán. That made the score 1-1 after 33 minutes of play. Antonio Fioriti fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without André Carmo having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Loukianos Livas in the 39th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Álvaro Perpiñán prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Mac Aron hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. After 42 played minutes, Ponte do Carro's Luís Falcão shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Álvaro Perpiñán came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Ponte do Carro reached it. Álvaro Perpiñán took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Loukianos Livas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Antonio Fioriti to strike the kick off in the second half. André Carmo was a little too slow when Antonio Fioriti got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 51st minute. The score was now 1-2. 57 minutes into the match, Sporting Burgas's goal looked a bit too open when Loukianos Livas came free, but Álvaro Perpiñán reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 61st minute, Loukianos Livas made a precise shot to the right of Álvaro Perpiñán. Sporting Burgas's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-2. After having played for 67 minutes, Adélio Brites managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ponte do Carro's supporters crossed their fingers, but Adélio Brites was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Loukianos Livas in the 71st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Álvaro Perpiñán saved Sporting Burgas from getting behind. Sporting Burgas's Álvaro Perpiñán played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alcino Jesus in the 76th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Loukianos Livas in the 78th minute of play forced Sporting Burgas's goalkeeper Álvaro Perpiñán to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Alcino Jesus during the 79th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Alcino Jesus hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. Ponte do Carro made a substitution. Tiago Cortez replaced Alcino Jesus. After a rather tough play, Ponte do Carro's Alcino Jesus got a free kick in the 80th minute. In the 87th minute Simão Boaventura shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Álvaro Perpiñán saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Álvaro Perpiñán showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Loukianos Livas in the 88th minute of the match. After 89 minutes Sporting Burgas's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Luís Falcão who took care of the corner kick.
