Cássio Dracena's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Pauli Palander read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 28th minute of play. Vlashers's Pauli Palander played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cássio Dracena in the 31st minute of play. After a rather tough play, Vlashers's Petrică Dragu got a free kick in the 37th minute. Vlashers's Pauli Palander proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 39th minute of the match, managed to save Vlashers from getting a goal against them. Pauli Palander took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cássio Dracena, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Marius Levința made a kick off. With a little luck, Club 23's Sören Malmberg got control of the ball when Marius Levința tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 58 minutes, Emanuel Robescu mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Club 23 and the Vlashers players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Vlashers booed when Club 23 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Emanuel Robescu didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 77th minute the ball was on its way in behind Vlashers's goalkeeper Pauli Palander, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 78th minute of the match Club 23 got a corner. Vlashers's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Dacian Săraru ran over to the corner to take the kick. Club 23's Dacian Săraru was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Pauli Palander in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Pauli Palander showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Golo Gana in the 79th minute of the match.
