In the 10th minute Tartalo Rajoi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Guido Herrera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Unai Calatayud's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Guido Herrera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 12th minute of play. Guido Herrera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tartalo Rajoi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 16 minutes into the match, Atlético Ourense's Unai Calatayud sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Guido Herrera narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After having played for 25 minutes, Unai Calatayud managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Atlético Ourense's supporters crossed their fingers, but Unai Calatayud was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some careless play in the SC Farense defense, Unai Calatayud kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Guido Herrera. The SC Farense fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Guido Herrera should have stopped the shot. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Afonso Vasconcelos made a kick off. Tartalo Rajoi in the 59thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Guido Herrera, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. The audience was convinced that Seve Dobale's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Guido Herrera was relentless in the 73rd minute of the game. The crowd rose to their feet as Seve Dobale kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Guido Herrera. That made the score 0-6 in the 75 minute of play. The Atlético Ourense supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Atlético Ourense would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
