In the 3rd minute Laerte Favoretto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benigno Sabina saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 4 minutes into the match, Atlético Mancha Real's goal looked a bit too open when Laerte Favoretto came free, but Benigno Sabina reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. ClUb DePoRtIvO LUGO's Remigio Valerón proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 9th minute of the match, managed to save ClUb DePoRtIvO LUGO from getting a goal against them. 11 minutes into the game, Jakes Vila cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Benigno Sabina was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Laerte Favoretto in the 19th minute of play forced Atlético Mancha Real's goalkeeper Benigno Sabina to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Taurino Losantos came up free with the goalie in the 26th minute, the ClUb DePoRtIvO LUGO fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Taurino Losantos couldn't finish the play. Melquiades Borrás charged in rather forcefully in the 27th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Melquiades Borrás the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of ClUb DePoRtIvO LUGO booed when Atlético Mancha Real was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Melquiades Borrás didn't get a good kick on the ball. Atlético Mancha Real's Benigno Sabina played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Julio Alacuart in the 33rd minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 34th minute, Elisardo Gimenez managed to get in a good position for a shot. Atlético Mancha Real's supporters rose to their feet, but Elisardo Gimenez was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Remigio Valerón breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 36th minute, Laerte Favoretto made a precise shot to the right of Benigno Sabina. Atlético Mancha Real's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. 39 minutes into the game, ClUb DePoRtIvO LUGO's Laerte Favoretto nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Benigno Sabina made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-4. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-5 lead.

The wind increased when Jakes Vila made the kick off in the second half. Benigno Sabina showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Laerte Favoretto in the 51st minute of the match. Elisardo Gimenez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. ClUb DePoRtIvO LUGO's Remigio Valerón played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Reis Birsel in the 58th minute of play. Benigno Sabina made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Laerte Favoretto in the 60th minute of play. Benigno Sabina made a fantastic save in the 63rd minute, when Julio Alacuart sent off a good shot on target. Remigio Valerón came out of the goal in the 66th minute to try and stop a shot by Atlético Mancha Real's Reis Birsel. But to his dismay, Reis Birsel quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-5. ClUb DePoRtIvO LUGO's Guido Escobar was substituted for Jakes Vila. In the 71st minute Laerte Favoretto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benigno Sabina saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. ClUb DePoRtIvO LUGO's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Taurino Losantos in the 73rd minute. Remigio Valerón took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ekaitz Cienfuegos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the match had gone on for 81 minutes, Guido Escobar took a quick shot and it went in 1-7 without a chance for Benigno Sabina to make any attempt to save it. In the 87th minute Guillermo Rapado shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benigno Sabina saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Remigio Valerón made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ekaitz Cienfuegos in the 89th minute of play. Benigno Sabina made an important save on a dangerous shot by Rey Northe in the 90th minute. If Reis Birsel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Atlético Mancha Real fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. ClUb DePoRtIvO LUGO were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
