In the 16th minute Artur Jesus shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but David Bastos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 16 minutes of play, Sporting Tuga FC's Artur Jesus made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. David Bastos was left in no man's land by his defense there! Alfredo Santana showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nikos Christou, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Teodoro Freire in the 27th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Alfredo Santana saved Sporting Tuga FC from getting behind. José Durães hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. After 34 minutes, Teodoro Freire made it 1-2 with a short kick to the right side. Sporting Tuga FC's Alfredo Santana tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Alfredo Santana showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Teodoro Freire in the 37th minute of the match. In the 39th minute of the match AM United got a corner. Sporting Tuga FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Adelino Palma ran over to the corner to take the kick. It was a well-played corner which Pierre-Olivier Ortiz managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. In the 42nd minute Pierre-Olivier Ortiz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alfredo Santana saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in AM United's zone, Henrique Calado stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. David Bastos came out of the goal and Henrique Calado tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Carlos Figueiredo made a kick off. Sporting Tuga FC's Alfredo Santana proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 51st minute of the match, managed to save Sporting Tuga FC from getting a goal against them. Henrique Calado's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but David Bastos read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 53rd minute of play. José Durães hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. Alfredo Santana made an important save on a dangerous shot by Angelo Pessoa in the 63rd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Teodoro Freire in the 65th minute of play forced Sporting Tuga FC's goalkeeper Alfredo Santana to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sporting Tuga FC's Alfredo Santana proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 72nd minute of the match, managed to save Sporting Tuga FC from getting a goal against them. Teodoro Freire scored 1-3 in the 74th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Alfredo Santana, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Teodoro Freire in the 78th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Alfredo Santana prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 83 minutes into the match, AM United's Teodoro Freire sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Alfredo Santana narrowly saved just below the crossbar. A collision led to Sporting Tuga FC getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. Nasko Vitev hit a great ball. Teodoro Freire's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Alfredo Santana firmly grabbed it by the left post. Alfredo Santana made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Teodoro Freire in the 93rd minute of play. José Durães hit a great freekick 96 minutes into the match. When the match was over AM United could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Sporting Tuga FC throughout the match.
