An unexpectedly hard shot by Fredy Montero in the 16th minute of play forced Pau Nas Canelas's goalkeeper Gentil Miranda to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 18th play minute Palmiro Picasso came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Renato Vargas. 1-0. Gentil Miranda stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Fredy Montero's shot from short distance in the 21st minute. Thanks to some nice moves Palmiro Picasso could shoot a difficult shot in the 24th minute, which Renato Vargas however easily saved by the left post. Sporting Clube de Gaya's defense didn't have a chance, in the 26th minute, when Edinho Moraes scored to the left of an out of position Renato Vargas, making the score, 2-0. Alcides Falcão sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 37th minute Adolfo Cedro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gentil Miranda saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sporting Clube de Gaya's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Fredy Montero in the 38th minute. After 40 minutes, Oséas Moraes mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Pau Nas Canelas and the Sporting Clube de Gaya players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Pau Nas Canelas getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Oséas Moraes hit a great ball. Gentil Miranda stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Fredy Montero's shot from short distance in the 41st minute. In the 43rd minute, Palmiro Picasso got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Edinho Moraes was the one to do the kick off. In the 53rd minute of the match, Fredy Montero tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Gentil Miranda saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. After a rather tough play, Pau Nas Canelas's Lech Biraga got a free kick in the 56th minute. Gentil Miranda acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 57th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Fredy Montero. Renato Vargas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edinho Moraes in the 59th minute of play. When Palmiro Picasso came up free with the goalie in the 60th minute, the Pau Nas Canelas fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Palmiro Picasso couldn't finish the play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Edinho Moraes in the 64th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Renato Vargas saved Sporting Clube de Gaya from getting behind. The Pau Nas Canelas fans' excitement grew in the 64th match minute when Pau Nas Canelas's Edinho Moraes looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 3-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. When Palmiro Picasso came up free with the goalie in the 67th minute, the Pau Nas Canelas fans jumped to their feet. In the 68th minute, Edinho Moraes ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Renato Vargas was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-0. In the 71st match minute, Pau Nas Canelas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Oséas Moraes to maneuver through the defense. With his leg Gentil Miranda managed to avoid a goal in the 75thth minute, when Sporting Clube de Gaya's Fredy Montero fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Tytus Wolniewicz kicked well hit freekick during the 76th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Sporting Clube de Gaya's zone, Palmiro Picasso stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Renato Vargas came out of the goal and Palmiro Picasso tried to chip the ball over his head.
