G A I S's defense didn't have a chance, in the 16th minute, when Radamel Oakley scored to the left of an out of position Staffan Eckegren, making the score, 2-0. Radamel Oakley could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 26th minute of the match, but Staffan Eckegren made a huge save. Jan Lindström showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Horea Vulcănescu, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. When the match had gone on for 31 minutes, Radamel Oakley took a quick shot and it went in 3-0 without a chance for Staffan Eckegren to make any attempt to save it. Radamel Oakley received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Staffan Eckegren came out and tried to block the shot, but Radamel Oakley slotted it home off the left post making it 4-0 in the 35th minute. Jan Lindström showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Arne Stensson in the 38th minute of the match. In the 45th match minute, G A I S was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arne Stensson to maneuver through the defense. In the 47th minute Arne Stensson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jan Lindström saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Af the end of the first half the score was 4-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The wind increased when Horea Vulcănescu made the kick off in the second half. Radamel Oakley scored 5-0 in the 52nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Staffan Eckegren, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Sixten Ekström kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. Surahammar's Zlatan Lion was substituted for Toninho Lara. After 57 played minutes G A I S got a freekick which was hit by Sixten Ekström. Staffan Eckegren showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Victor Santxol, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Victor Santxol in the 68th minute of play forced G A I S's goalkeeper Staffan Eckegren to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Surahammar had won after a very even match.
