The audience was convinced that Rähim Sterling's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Francesco Marines was relentless in the 29th minute of the game. The Garphyttan fans' excitement grew in the 30th match minute when Garphyttan's Rähim Sterling looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Francesco Marines showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lolo Obis in the 40th minute of the match. 42 minutes into the game, Moncho Almonte recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Erik Skog. Moncho Almonte showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-2. Lolo Obis lost his temper 45 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 45th minute of the game. One of Garphyttan:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Quetzal Flyers Hammers:s goal. Erik Skog had in the 47thth minute some difficulties stopping Sonny Perkins's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Quetzal Flyers Hammers made a substitution. Xepe Cañaveral replaced Frank Lampard. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Sonny Perkins stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 61st minute Moncho Almonte shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Erik Skog saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Michael Kvalfält in the 63rd minute of play forced Quetzal Flyers Hammers's goalkeeper Francesco Marines to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 65th minute Viktor Albäck shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Francesco Marines saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 67th minute of the match Garphyttan got a corner. Quetzal Flyers Hammers's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Michael Kvalfält ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Quetzal Flyers Hammers's goalie and right to Jörn Petersson. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Quetzal Flyers Hammers's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Viktor Albäck fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Francesco Marines having to interfere.
