In the 4thth minute of the game Octavian Basten who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Mäusekicker's Kai Schirmer was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Octavian Basten in the 9th minute of play forced Mäusekicker's goalkeeper Kai Schirmer to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 10 minutes of play, Rot-Weiss-Essen's Octavian Basten made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Kai Schirmer was left in no man's land by his defense there! 13 minutes into the match, Mäusekicker's goal looked a bit too open when Octavian Basten came free, but Kai Schirmer reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 16 played minutes Rot-Weiss-Essen got a freekick which was hit by Hakem Al Khames. The audience was convinced that Octavian Basten's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Kai Schirmer was relentless in the 19th minute of the game. Kai Schirmer showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Octavian Basten in the 21st minute of the match. In the 22nd minute, Mesut Özil hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Kai Schirmer took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Octavian Basten, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Grzegorz Czerwinskis short, quick shot in the 26thth minute got August Hoffmanns to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Mäusekicker were awarded a corner in the 27th minute after Rot-Weiss-Essen's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Feodor Wedel took the corner. Kai Schirmer didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Rot-Weiss-Essen's Octavian Basten shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 0-2 in the ordered_time% minute. When the match had gone on for 35 minutes, Octavian Basten put it in 0-3 from a short distance just to the right of Kai Schirmer. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

A very good chance. 55 minutes into the match, Mäusekicker's goalkeeper Kai Schirmer had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Octavian Basten. Rot-Weiss-Essen's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Maximilian Henning in the 61st minute. A nice corner shot did that Maximilian Henning got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Kai Schirmer quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. The audience was convinced that Octavian Basten's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Kai Schirmer was relentless in the 62nd minute of the game. Octavian Basten in the 64thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Kai Schirmer, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. August Hoffmanns made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Grzegorz Czerwinski in the 65th minute of play. 66 minutes into the match, Rot-Weiss-Essen's goal looked a bit too open when Beti Montaña came free, but August Hoffmanns reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Through an outstanding action, after 68 minutes, Kai Schirmer successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. In the 74th minute the ball was on its way in behind Mäusekicker's goalkeeper Kai Schirmer, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Grzegorz Czerwinski hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. Kai Schirmer showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Octavian Basten, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. Kai Schirmer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Maximilian Henning in the 83rd minute of play. In the 84th minute of the match Rot-Weiss-Essen got a corner. Mäusekicker's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Maximilian Henning ran over to the corner to take the kick. 87 minutes into the match, Mäusekicker's goal looked a bit too open when Anestis Kotsopoulos came free, but Kai Schirmer reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 90 minutes Mäusekicker's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Maximilian Henning who took care of the corner kick. Kai Schirmer took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mesut Özil, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Kai Schirmer came out of the goal in the 96th minute to try and stop a shot by Rot-Weiss-Essen's Anestis Kotsopoulos. But to his dismay, Anestis Kotsopoulos quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-7. Rot-Weiss-Essen's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
