Simon Bäckman was slow to take the kick. During this time The Charlatans's players had a chance to rest. Ingvar Svensson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Merrill Pryor, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 16th minute Merrill Pryor shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ingvar Svensson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With an all-out effort, Aston Villa FC's Ingvar Svensson threw himself towards the right post 18 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Merrill Pryor, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. The audience was convinced that Harald Karlsson's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Filiph Hägg was relentless in the 44th minute of the game. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Harald Karlsson in the 45th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Filiph Hägg saved Aston Villa FC from getting behind. The supporters of The Charlatans booed when Aston Villa FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jörgen Dalkvist didn't get a good kick on the ball. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

In the 58th minute Jonas Forsberg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ingvar Svensson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 90 minutes, Nils-Åke Gunnarsson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Aston Villa FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nils-Åke Gunnarsson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Tim Lund took the ball and in the 92 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ingvar Svensson. Ingvar Svensson dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1.
