An unexpectedly hard shot by Chen Ao Fan in the 9th minute of play forced Stream Sponsoren's goalkeeper Birger Påk to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Stream Sponsoren's Birger Påk played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kevin Keegan in the 11th minute of play. Kevin Keegan took the ball and in the 14 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Birger Påk. Birger Påk dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. After 26 minutes, Simon Kvarnström mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Stream Sponsoren and the Skövde AIK players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 26 played minutes Stream Sponsoren got a freekick which was hit by Simon Kvarnström. After a defensive mix-up in Skövde AIK's zone, Kaj Låsberg stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Olov Wahlnäs came out of the goal and Kaj Låsberg tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Birger Påk made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Chen Ao Fan in the 33rd minute of play. After having played for 37 minutes, Chen Ao Fan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Skövde AIK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Chen Ao Fan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Birger Påk showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Chen Ao Fan, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. After a rather tough play, Stream Sponsoren's Rasmus Ljungberg got a free kick in the 42nd minute. Chen Ao Fan missed a clear chance of a goal when in the 44 minute of the game fired away a shot, but unfortunally the ball went out to the Birger Påk right hand side. Kurt Hamrin hit a great freekick 48 minutes into the match.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Aktan Sara to make the kick off. Aktan Sara received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Olov Wahlnäs tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Stream Sponsoren's Birger Påk proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 62nd minute of the match, managed to save Stream Sponsoren from getting a goal against them. A collision led to Skövde AIK getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Knut Rudberg hit a great ball.
