The referee ignored Melchester Rovers's protests and gave Mårten Abrahamsson a yellow card for diving instead. Mårten Abrahamsson kicked well hit freekick during the 8th minute of the match. Sandu Musteatã sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The audience was convinced that Sune Svartengren's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ronny Westerberg was relentless in the 13th minute of the game. Melchester Rovers's Ronny Westerberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sandu Musteatã in the 26th minute of play. Ola Toivonen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sune Svartengren in the 31st minute of play forced Melchester Rovers's goalkeeper Ronny Westerberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ronny Westerberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ola Toivonen, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. Harry Higuita made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mårten Abrahamsson in the 35th minute of play. In the 40th minute of the match Melchester Rovers got a corner. Aro FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Hans Svensson ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Hans Svensson almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Aro FC's Harry Higuita did a great save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sune Svartengren in the 45th minute of play forced Melchester Rovers's goalkeeper Ronny Westerberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 46 minutes Melchester Rovers's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Errikos Tsagaris who took care of the corner kick. Errikos Tsagaris made a great header on Aro FC's corner, it was just that Melchester Rovers's Ronny Westerberg managed to reach the ball for a save.

In the 50th minute, Brian Strömberg hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 57 minutes into the match, Sune Svartengren had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ronny Westerberg. Melchester Rovers were awarded a corner in the 66th minute after Aro FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Hans Svensson took the corner. In the 70th minute, Errikos Tsagaris reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Ronny Westerberg. The goal made the score 2-2. Harry Higuita showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mårten Abrahamsson in the 74th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Melchester Rovers's Hans Svensson got a free kick in the 74th minute. Errikos Tsagaris succeeded in the game's 75th minute to get real power on a long shot . Melchester Rovers's Ronny Westerberg hadn't the time to block the shot which was pasted into the goal, 2-3! 78 minutes into the match, Melchester Rovers's goalkeeper Ronny Westerberg had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sune Svartengren. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ian Ekenberg in the 80th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Harry Higuita saved Aro FC from getting behind. A collision led to Aro FC getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Emanuel Benat hit a great ball. Hans Svensson took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 81st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Harry Higuita. Aro FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Errikos Tsagaris sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 85 minutes into the match, Aro FC's goal looked a bit too open when Stig Vikström came free, but Harry Higuita reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Errikos Tsagaris scored 2-4 in the 95th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ronny Westerberg, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The Aro FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Aro FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
