But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nelson Haedo couldn't finish the play. 1-0 became the score in the 10th minute when Bruno Moneda elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. 24 minutes into the game, Nelson Haedo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Tristan Franquis was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Tristan Franquis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nelson Haedo in the 28th minute of play. Nelson Haedo might have been able to make a better finish in the 30th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Tristan Franquis. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Nelson Haedo ran back to his position shaking his head. Silvio Rainerio might have been able to make a better finish in the 38th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Alfredo Aguilar. Tristan Franquis was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 45th minute, Silvio Rainerio fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-3.

The wind increased when Bruno Moneda made the kick off in the second half. Alfredo Aguilar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Silvio Rainerio in the 51st minute of play. After some careless play in the Club Olimpia defense, Silvio Rainerio kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Alfredo Aguilar. The Club Olimpia fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Alfredo Aguilar should have stopped the shot. Feng Chuan Liang made in the 59th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Fausto Comillas however managed to control. After 64 minutes of play, Imperio Catatumbo de Lara's Silvio Rainerio made it 3-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Alfredo Aguilar was left in no man's land by his defense there! Imperio Catatumbo de Lara's Rik Cores was substituted for Fernan Erus. Imperio Catatumbo de Lara's Tristan Franquis proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 69th minute of the match, managed to save Imperio Catatumbo de Lara from getting a goal against them. Nelson Haedo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Tristan Franquis read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 70th minute of play. 71 minutes had been played when some careless play by Imperio Catatumbo de Lara's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Luís Fernando Duarte was slow to take the kick. During this time Club Olimpia's players had a chance to rest. The corner led Club Olimpia's Luís Fernando Duarte to fire away a dangerous shot which Tristan Franquis despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Tristan Franquis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nelson Haedo in the 74th minute of play. 78 minutes into the match, Nelson Haedo notched a goal, 3-4, to the right of Imperio Catatumbo de Lara's Tristan Franquis. Tristan Franquis was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Tristan Franquis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nelson Haedo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 82nd minute Club Olimpia were awarded a corner. Luís Fernando Duarte went to the cornerflag to take it. Feng Chuan Liang tried in the game's 82nd match minute to clear up in front of his own goal but it went so bad that he put the ball into the goal to the left of an unhappy Tristan Franquis. An annoying self made goal, 3-5. Raka Hadiman hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. Tristan Franquis was out of position in the 86 minute of play, and Nelson Haedo capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Nelson Haedo really showed his touch with that goal: 3-6. Club Olimpia made a substitution. Pan Xi De replaced Roberto Bueldi. If Pan Xi De had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alfredo Aguilar took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mümtaz Teren, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tristan Franquis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pan Xi De, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Club Olimpia had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
