Gertjan De Ryck hit a great ball. 5 minutes into the match, Sporting Cristal's Fernanco Peso sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Haitz Langarica narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 13 played minutes Atletico Aragua FC got a freekick which was hit by Henrique Taranco. In the 14th minute the ball was on its way in behind Atletico Aragua FC's goalkeeper Haitz Langarica, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. A collision led to Atletico Aragua FC getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Zachary Flores hit a great ball. 22 minutes into the match, Fernanco Peso had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Haitz Langarica. Atletico Aragua FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Fernanco Peso was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. After 26 minutes of play, Sporting Cristal's Fernanco Peso made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Haitz Langarica was left in no man's land by his defense there! An unexpectedly hard shot by Fernanco Peso in the 31st minute of play forced Atletico Aragua FC's goalkeeper Haitz Langarica to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Arnold Collins had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 36 minutes into the match, Fernanco Peso had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Haitz Langarica. Atletico Aragua FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Fernanco Peso was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-3. In the 40th match minute, Atletico Aragua FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pencho Gramatikov to maneuver through the defense. Sporting Cristal's Cazimir Gogea got a good chance for a goal in the 40th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Lauro Acebal got free with Jon Iruegas in the 42nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Haitz Langarica made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fernanco Peso in the 43rd minute of play. Fernanco Peso blasted a shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Haitz Langarica having to make a save. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Fernanco Peso was the one to do the kick off. Haitz Langarica made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fernanco Peso in the 53rd minute of play. Jon Iruegas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pedro Maldonado in the 55th minute of the match. 58 minutes into the match, Sporting Cristal's goal looked a bit too open when Lauro Acebal came free, but Jon Iruegas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 61 played minutes Atletico Aragua FC got a freekick which was hit by Pencho Gramatikov. Atletico Aragua FC made a substitution. Viviano Omente replaced Bizi Faubelo. After a rather tough play, Atletico Aragua FC's Pencho Gramatikov got a free kick in the 63rd minute. The throw-in from Viviano Omente in the 65th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Sporting Cristal's Tobias Larsson. Jon Iruegas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lauro Acebal in the 67th minute of the match. In the 68th minute, Hüseyin Turan Elçibey got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Jon Iruegas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pedro Maldonado, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 73 minutes into the match, Sporting Cristal's goal looked a bit too open when Gaspard Izquierdo came free, but Jon Iruegas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jon Iruegas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gaspard Izquierdo in the 76th minute of the match. In the 78thth minute of the game Fernanco Peso who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Atletico Aragua FC's Haitz Langarica was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Sporting Cristal were awarded a corner in the 81th minute after Atletico Aragua FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Cazimir Gogea took the corner. Sporting Cristal's Jon Iruegas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rafe Vallina in the 86th minute of play. Jon Iruegas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lauro Acebal in the 89th minute of the match. Viviano Omente hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. Sporting Cristal's Jon Iruegas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arnold Collins in the 93rd minute of play. In the 95th minute Lauro Acebal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jon Iruegas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the final whistle went the supporters of Sporting Cristal were delighted that their team had defeated the much more dominant Atletico Aragua FC side.
