Virgilio Rojas was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Marcell Yashin made a fantastic save in the 6th minute, when Chucky Norris sent off a good shot on target. Atletico de la Rosa CF were awarded a corner in the 17th minute after PUNTARENAS F.C's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Ximun Camudio took the corner. The corner led Atletico de la Rosa CF's Ximun Camudio to fire away a dangerous shot which Virgilio Rojas despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Atletico de la Rosa CF's Fortunato Miner got a good chance for a goal in the 19th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 23 minutes into the game, Fortunato Miner cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Virgilio Rojas was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Atletico de la Rosa CF's Marcell Yashin proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 26th minute of the match, managed to save Atletico de la Rosa CF from getting a goal against them. Iwan Konopka kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. 32 minutes into the match, Atletico de la Rosa CF's goalkeeper Marcell Yashin had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Chucky Norris. Virgilio Rojas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Oscar Santo in the 37th minute of play. A collision led to PUNTARENAS F.C getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Agustin Villalobos hit a great ball. Virgilio Rojas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fortunato Miner, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 45th minute Oscar Santo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Virgilio Rojas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Marcell Yashin came out of the goal in the 46th minute to try and stop a shot by PUNTARENAS F.C's Chucky Norris. But to his dismay, Chucky Norris quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Oscar Santo to make the kick off. Virgilio Rojas made an important save on a dangerous shot by Oscar Santo in the 55th minute. After having played for 58 minutes, Oscar Santo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Atletico de la Rosa CF's supporters crossed their fingers, but Oscar Santo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Atletico de la Rosa CF made a substitution. Alessandro Eguizabal replaced Fortunato Miner. 70 minutes into the match, PUNTARENAS F.C's goal looked a bit too open when Danny-Rafael De La Rosa-Choca came free, but Virgilio Rojas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 75th minute Chucky Norris shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcell Yashin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, PUNTARENAS F.C's Agustin Villalobos got a free kick in the 76th minute. PUNTARENAS F.C's Leopoldo Nuñez was substituted for Macho Madrigal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Virgilio Rojas prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After having played for 88 minutes, Danny-Rafael De La Rosa-Choca managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Atletico de la Rosa CF's supporters crossed their fingers, but Danny-Rafael De La Rosa-Choca was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The Atletico de la Rosa CF players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
