After a defensive mix-up in Sporting Buceo's zone, Agustín Alvarez stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Máximo Correia came out of the goal and Agustín Alvarez tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The long shot by Szczepan Bucyki in the 26th minute really tested Máximo Correia's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Cafu Negri showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Maureen Franco, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. Cafu Negri made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Xavies Casavela in the 30th minute of play. In the 33rd minute of the match, Agustín Alvarez got a very nice opportunity to score, but Máximo Correia was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. In the 35thth minute of the game Xavies Casavela who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but PEÑAROL ORO Y CARBON's Cafu Negri was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Maureen Franco scored 0-2 in the 36th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Cafu Negri, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Charly Good stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Cafu Negri took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Charly Good, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Agustín Alvarez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Máximo Correia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 55 minutes had been played when some careless play by Sporting Buceo's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Sporting Buceo's goalie and right to Usain Bolt. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Sporting Buceo's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. 58 minutes into the match, PEÑAROL ORO Y CARBON's goal looked a bit too open when Rainier Gregoire came free, but Cafu Negri reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cafu Negri showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Charly Good in the 65th minute of the match. Sporting Buceo's Máximo Correia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marcelo Zalayeta in the 66th minute of play. Xavies Casavela could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 69th minute of the match, but Cafu Negri made a huge save. In the 72nd minute, Agustín Alvarez ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Máximo Correia was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. PEÑAROL ORO Y CARBON's Millrick Portanares was substituted for Torcato Brito. PEÑAROL ORO Y CARBON made a substitution. Jordy Cadiz replaced Usain Bolt. Iraklis Rapanos replaced Xavies Casavela. Cafu Negri made a fantastic save in the 79th minute, when Iraklis Rapanos sent off a good shot on target. After a defensive mix-up in Sporting Buceo's zone, Marcelo Zalayeta stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Máximo Correia came out of the goal and Marcelo Zalayeta tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 88th minute Charly Good shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cafu Negri saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 89 played minutes Sporting Buceo got a freekick which was hit by Ramón Arias. Sporting Buceo's Máximo Correia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Procopio Mayorga in the 90th minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Xinto Carreiras kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Cafu Negri. That made the score 1-3 in the 92 minute of play. Procopio Mayorga charged in rather forcefully in the 94th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Procopio Mayorga the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 94 played minutes PEÑAROL ORO Y CARBON got a freekick which was hit by Procopio Mayorga. The Sporting Buceo supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Sporting Buceo would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
