Francesco Totti fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gökçen Safa having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Birkan Cam in the 33rd minute of play forced Maden FC's goalkeeper Gökçen Safa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Maden FC's Gökçen Safa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Josep Miquelarena in the 46th minute of play. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ner Viot to make the kick off.
