The referee ignored Zurlo Team's protests and gave Alfredo Alfani a yellow card for diving instead. In the 3rd minute, one of Zurlo Team:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Zurlo Team. If Cesare Gerola had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 16 minutes into the game, Lyon's Fabiano Borel nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Amos Valcareggi made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. 21 minutes into the game, Zurlo Team's Attilio Mammarella nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jâninho Potiguar made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. Jâninho Potiguar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Baladi Gonzalo in the 24th minute of play. 25 minutes into the match, Lyon's goal looked a bit too open when Attilio Mammarella came free, but Jâninho Potiguar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 26th minute Attilio Mammarella shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jâninho Potiguar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cesare Gerola's late challenge caught a Lyon's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Cesare Gerola helped the player get up and apologised. In the 27th match minute, Zurlo Team was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cesare Gerola to maneuver through the defense. Zurlo Team's Amos Valcareggi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fabiano Borel in the 28th minute of play. Amos Valcareggi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jonas Botte, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. Luka Toni's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jâninho Potiguar read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 41st minute of play. 44 minutes into the match, Jonas Botte notched a goal, 1-4, to the right of Zurlo Team's Amos Valcareggi. Amos Valcareggi was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Attilio Mammarella made a kick off. Zurlo Team's defense didn't have a chance, in the 59th minute, when Fabiano Borel scored to the left of an out of position Amos Valcareggi, making the score, 1-5. 67 minutes into the match, Zurlo Team's goal looked a bit too open when Jonas Botte came free, but Amos Valcareggi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 72nd match minute, Lyon was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jean-Cyrille Bellot to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luka Toni in the 74th minute of play forced Lyon's goalkeeper Jâninho Potiguar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Amos Valcareggi made a fantastic save in the 75th minute, when Jonas Botte sent off a good shot on target. Jâninho Potiguar stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Wasyl Misiorowski's shot from short distance in the 80th minute. A collision led to Zurlo Team getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Luka Toni hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Zurlo Team's Fabio Colantonio got a free kick in the 84th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jean-Cyrille Bellot during the 86th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 87th minute of the match Cesare Gerola sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Jâninho Potiguar skillfully saved the ball. In the 88th minute Jonas Botte shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Amos Valcareggi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Zurlo Team booed when Lyon was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Elias Corneloup didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jâninho Potiguar showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Attilio Mammarella in the 92nd minute of the match. Arturo Scurti kicked well hit freekick during the 94th minute of the match. A collision led to Zurlo Team getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. Luka Toni hit a great ball. The Zurlo Team supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Lyon's performance. The match ended with a win for Lyon.
