FC Bruges's Luc Van Hinnendael played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Di Kun in the 5th minute of play. When Botev Plovdiv 1912's Di Kun in the 5th minute got a chance for a shot 5th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye FC Bruges's goalie prevented a goal. In the 7th minute Botev Plovdiv 1912 were awarded a corner. Billy Borre went to the cornerflag to take it. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Xavies Muñagorri in the 12th minute a chance for a shot on goal. Mac Mon did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 2-1 to the left of a surprised Christian Bale 31 minutes into the match. Luc Van Hinnendael showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Di Kun in the 45th minute of the match. In the 47th match minute, Botev Plovdiv 1912 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Benigno Bingen to maneuver through the defense. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

With a couple of smart ball manuevers Mac Mon in the 55th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Christian Bale saved Botev Plovdiv 1912 from getting behind. After 57 minutes Botev Plovdiv 1912's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Lasse Kroner who took care of the corner kick. Carl Van Kamp took the ball and in the 62 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Christian Bale. After 70 minutes of play, FC Bruges's Mac Mon made it 4-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Christian Bale was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Xavies Muñagorri had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, FC Bruges's Luc Van Hinnendael got control of the ball when Paul Romeo tried to sneak it across the goal line. After having played for 78 minutes, Di Kun managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Botev Plovdiv 1912's supporters crossed their fingers, but Di Kun was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Luc Van Hinnendael made an important save on a dangerous shot by Paul Romeo in the 80th minute.
