The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Natã Cavalcante made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Serginho Nóbrega in the 5th minute of play. 7 minutes into the match, Defensores de Savóia's goal looked a bit too open when Serginho Nóbrega came free, but Natã Cavalcante reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 10 minutes into the match, José Paulo Ramalho notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Defensores de Savóia's Natã Cavalcante. Natã Cavalcante was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 13 minutes into the match, Defensores de Savóia's goal looked a bit too open when Germano Cano came free, but Natã Cavalcante reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Serginho Nóbrega got free in front of the goal in the 15th minute he wasn't very focused and chipped the ball just over the goal. Natã Cavalcante was delighted since he was out of position and the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. When Serginho Nóbrega fell near the penalty area in the 17th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Fluminense di Parma's protests and gave Serginho Nóbrega a yellow card for diving instead. In the 18th minute, Serginho Nóbrega hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 31st minute of the match Defensores de Savóia got a corner. Fluminense di Parma's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Tarcisio Botelho ran over to the corner to take the kick. Tarcisio Botelho made a great header on Defensores de Savóia's corner, it was just that Fluminense di Parma's André Tepedino managed to reach the ball for a save. A collision led to Defensores de Savóia getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Gerson Azevedo hit a great ball. When the match had gone on for 36 minutes, Germano Cano put it in 0-2 from a short distance just to the right of Natã Cavalcante. Fluminense di Parma's Serginho Nóbrega got a good chance for a goal in the 44th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Serginho Nóbrega in the 45th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Natã Cavalcante prevented the ball from getting in the gole.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Serginho Nóbrega to make the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 54th minute, Germano Cano managed to get in a good position for a shot. Fluminense di Parma's supporters rose to their feet, but Germano Cano was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Natã Cavalcante breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Serginho Nóbrega in the 56thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Natã Cavalcante, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. 66 minutes into the match, Defensores de Savóia's goalkeeper Natã Cavalcante had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Serginho Nóbrega. With his leg Natã Cavalcante managed to avoid a goal in the 67thth minute, when Fluminense di Parma's Serginho Nóbrega fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 69th minute Germano Cano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Natã Cavalcante saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Serginho Nóbrega recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 73rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Natã Cavalcante was a little too slow when Germano Cano got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 75th minute. The score was now 0-4. Defensores de Savóia's Natã Cavalcante played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Germano Cano in the 79th minute of play. Natã Cavalcante showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Germano Cano in the 83rd minute of the match. Natã Cavalcante was out of position in the 84 minute of play, and Serginho Nóbrega capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Serginho Nóbrega really showed his touch with that goal: 0-5. When the match had gone on for 91 minutes, Germano Cano took a quick shot and it went in 0-6 without a chance for Natã Cavalcante to make any attempt to save it. Natã Cavalcante showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Germano Cano in the 97th minute of the match.
