The VIAMÃO F.C.. fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ulaş Baliç should have stopped the shot. Otávio Dante fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ulaş Baliç having to interfere. When Tião Neiva fell near the penalty area in the 24th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored VIAMÃO F.C..'s protests and gave Tião Neiva a yellow card for diving instead. In the 25th match minute, VIAMÃO F.C.. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tião Neiva to maneuver through the defense. The audience was convinced that Otávio Dante's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ulaş Baliç was relentless in the 27th minute of the game. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Otávio Dante to make the kick off. The referee gave Hílton Sarmento a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. In the 93rd minute of the game Silvinho Madureira made a throw-in which Maximiliano Ermengol played forward. The Lea FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Lea FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
