The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The supporters of Socanelas FC booed when Grentino FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gualter Sampaio didn't get a good kick on the ball. Fedor Delafosse got a throw-in 13 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Fedor Delafosse. Edvaldo Tande made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Erasmo Simão in the 22nd minute of play. A collision led to Grentino FC getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Amadeu de Alcântara hit a great ball. A hard shot 24 in the game by Douglas Basso from a close distance when the talented Falcão Sampaio managed to make a qualified save. Grentino FC's players were relieved. Edvaldo Tande came out of the goal in the 27th minute to try and stop a shot by Grentino FC's Gualter Sampaio. But to his dismay, Gualter Sampaio quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. A sloppy throw-in by Wincent Mikulski in the 32nd minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Grentino FC's Amadeu de Alcântara. A collision led to Socanelas FC getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Keanu Ely hit a great ball. Edvaldo Tande took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gualter Sampaio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Douglas Basso made a great header on Socanelas FC's corner, it was just that Grentino FC's Falcão Sampaio managed to reach the ball for a save.

Socanelas FC made a substitution. Vinícius Urbano replaced Sílvio Luís Penha. The wind increased when Erasmo Simão made the kick off in the second half. Tanek Dziechciowski sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Edvaldo Tande took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gualter Sampaio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Falcão Sampaio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tanek Dziechciowski in the 57th minute of play. After some careless play in the Grentino FC defense, Tanek Dziechciowski kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Falcão Sampaio. The Grentino FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Falcão Sampaio should have stopped the shot. Vinícius Urbano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Falcão Sampaio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Edvaldo Tande made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gualter Sampaio in the 63rd minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Tanek Dziechciowski in the 66th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Falcão Sampaio saved Grentino FC from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Erasmo Simão in the 70th minute of play forced Socanelas FC's goalkeeper Edvaldo Tande to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 74 minutes into the match, Tanek Dziechciowski notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Grentino FC's Falcão Sampaio. Falcão Sampaio was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Socanelas FC's Haitz Fabelo was substituted for Fabiano Moreira. If Tanek Dziechciowski had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Edvaldo Tande showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Erasmo Simão, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tanek Dziechciowski in the 87th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Falcão Sampaio prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Tanek Dziechciowski received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Falcão Sampaio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 96 minutes, Erasmo Simão managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Grentino FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Erasmo Simão was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. For all the effort they put into the match, the Grentino FC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Socanelas FC.
