The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 3 minutes into the match, Icoara Football Club's goalkeeper Durval Guerra had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Paulo Neves. In the 4th minute Cristian Hoffmann shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Durval Guerra saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Kuno Heiberg showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dito Ramos in the 8th minute of the match. In the 10th minute, Paulo Neves reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Durval Guerra. The goal made the score 1-0. 13 minutes into the match, Icoara Football Club's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Hoffmann came free, but Durval Guerra reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Durval Guerra was a little too slow when Paulo Neves got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 18th minute. The score was now 2-0. Kuno Heiberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Erik Antunes, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. Icoara Football Club's Durval Guerra played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Hoffmann in the 23rd minute of play. Kuno Heiberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dito Ramos in the 28th minute of play. Adriano Camargo kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 32nd minute, Ricardinho Trigo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Pendotiba's supporters rose to their feet, but Ricardinho Trigo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Durval Guerra breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dito Ramos in the 36th minute of play forced Pendotiba's goalkeeper Kuno Heiberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 46 minutes into the match, Pendotiba's Paulo Neves sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Durval Guerra narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Dito Ramos stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the match, Pendotiba's Paulo Neves sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Durval Guerra narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The referee showed Cristian Hoffmann the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Icoara Football Club booed when Pendotiba was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cristian Hoffmann didn't get a good kick on the ball. Durval Guerra made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Paulo Neves in the 89th minute of play. Icoara Football Club's Durval Guerra played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Hoffmann in the 95th minute of play. Pendotiba's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
