Wilson Guedes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Durval Guerra having to interfere. In the 14th minute Cipriano Santana shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Abel Novaes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Abel Novaes made a fantastic save in the 15th minute, when Cipriano Santana sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cássio Maranhense in the 23rd minute of play forced Icoara Football Club's goalkeeper Durval Guerra to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. SOL's Abel Novaes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cipriano Santana in the 27th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 30th minute, Cipriano Santana managed to get in a good position for a shot. Icoara Football Club's supporters rose to their feet, but Cipriano Santana was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Abel Novaes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Simão Tavares hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Erik Antunes in the 39th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Abel Novaes saved SOL from getting behind. Abel Novaes came out of the goal in the 41st minute to try and stop a shot by Icoara Football Club's Adriano Vergílio. But to his dismay, Adriano Vergílio quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Abel Novaes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Erik Antunes, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. Dito Ramos could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 47th minute of the match, but Abel Novaes made a huge save.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Dito Ramos to make the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Erik Antunes in the 51st minute of play forced SOL's goalkeeper Abel Novaes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Icoara Football Club's Dito Ramos got a good chance for a goal in the 53rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 57th minute, Dito Ramos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. SOL were furious when Agostinho Arruda was red carded, 58 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. After 59 played minutes SOL got a freekick which was hit by Agostinho Arruda. 62 minutes into the match, SOL's goal looked a bit too open when Erik Antunes came free, but Abel Novaes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cássio Maranhense blasted a shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Durval Guerra having to make a save. 67 minutes into the game, Icoara Football Club's Cipriano Santana nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Abel Novaes made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. Abel Novaes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dito Ramos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Erik Antunes in the 72nd minute of play forced SOL's goalkeeper Abel Novaes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dito Ramos scored 3-0 in the 74th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Abel Novaes, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Abel Novaes didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Dito Ramos went, in the 77th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-0 was the resulting score. In the 81st minute, Belmiro Cabral made a precise shot to the right of Abel Novaes. SOL's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 5-0. The audience was convinced that Cipriano Santana's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Abel Novaes was relentless in the 88th minute of the game. Abel Novaes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dito Ramos in the 89th minute of the match. In the 91st minute, Erik Antunes made a precise shot to the right of Abel Novaes. SOL's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 7-0.
