Jakob Heinicke took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Albino Steven, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 21 minutes had been played when some careless play by Independência Futebol's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Ramón Leme was slow to take the kick. During this time Taquaral Campineiro's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Ramón Leme almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Independência Futebol's Jakob Heinicke did a great save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Armando Donatello in the 22nd minute of play forced Independência Futebol's goalkeeper Jakob Heinicke to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Geraldo de Godoi in the 24th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jakob Heinicke saved Independência Futebol from getting behind. Jakob Heinicke showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Geraldo de Godoi in the 25th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Geraldo de Godoi in the 37th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jakob Heinicke prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Zé Carlos Vaz's late challenge caught a Taquaral Campineiro's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Zé Carlos Vaz helped the player get up and apologised. Zé Carlos Vaz hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Independência Futebol's Emanuele Capaldo was substituted for Cristo Losantos. 53 minutes into the match, Toto Arebam had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Blair McCormick. Taquaral Campineiro's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Toto Arebam was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Blair McCormick showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zé Carlos Vaz in the 56th minute of the match. If Donato Guerra had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Roger Arruda hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. Giovani Teixeira hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. The supporters of Taquaral Campineiro booed when Independência Futebol was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Emanuele Capaldo didn't get a good kick on the ball. 67 minutes into the match, Taquaral Campineiro's Ramón Leme broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Independência Futebol's Jakob Heinicke proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 68th minute of the match, managed to save Independência Futebol from getting a goal against them. Geraldo de Godoi could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 69th minute of the match, but Jakob Heinicke made a huge save. If Roger Arruda had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Toto Arebam sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Geraldo de Godoi in the 80th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jakob Heinicke saved Independência Futebol from getting behind. 82 minutes into the match, Taquaral Campineiro's goal looked a bit too open when Toto Arebam came free, but Blair McCormick reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Blair McCormick showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Toto Arebam, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. Rui Terra kicked well hit freekick during the 86th minute of the match. With his leg Jakob Heinicke managed to avoid a goal in the 87thth minute, when Taquaral Campineiro's Geraldo de Godoi fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After 90 played minutes Taquaral Campineiro got a freekick which was hit by Waldemar Baptista. Blair McCormick made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Toto Arebam in the 91st minute of play. Independência Futebol's Jakob Heinicke played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Donato Guerra in the 96th minute of play. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
