The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Lui Vandré sent away a hard shot on goal in the 3rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Academia B.F. getting a freekick after 4 minutes play. Primo Sans hit a great ball. The supporters of Academia B.F. booed when Pura Arte F.C was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luís Paulo Fonseca didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 8 played minutes Pura Arte F.C got a freekick which was hit by Lui Vandré. After a rather tough play, Academia B.F.'s Wiliam Carioca got a free kick in the 9th minute. Primo Sans kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match. In the 17th minute, Academia B.F.'s goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Lui Vandré fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Johan Vollander made a fantastic save in the 17th minute, when Lui Vandré sent off a good shot on target. The supporters of Academia B.F. booed when Pura Arte F.C was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kenneth Mager didn't get a good kick on the ball. Lui Vandré could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 25th minute of the match, but Johan Vollander made a huge save. In the 29th minute, Juan Carlos Ramirez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Academia B.F. getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Giss Dal Bello hit a great ball. A sloppy throw-in by Yan Prata in the 33rd minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Academia B.F.'s Wiliam Carioca. Primo Sans might have been able to make a better finish in the 34th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Rodrigo Vidal. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Primo Sans ran back to his position shaking his head. Rodrigo Vidal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Primo Sans in the 34th minute of play. Johan Vollander made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Frédson Paulista in the 39th minute of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Lui Vandré to make the kick off. In the 55th minute Ferris Stock shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Johan Vollander saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 63 minutes in the game Yan Prata did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Frédson Paulista. Primo Sans could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 70th minute of the match, but Rodrigo Vidal made a huge save. The audience was convinced that Lui Vandré's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Johan Vollander was relentless in the 72nd minute of the game. If Primo Sans had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 80th minute, Wiliam Carioca fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. In the 84th minute Lui Vandré shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Johan Vollander saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Primo Sans had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Academia B.F. made a substitution. João Francisco Fontes replaced Wiliam Carioca. Academia B.F.'s Michel Totti was substituted for Primo Sans. In the 92nd minute, Michel Totti left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Academia B.F. fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Pura Arte F.C players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
