The supporters of SeleSantos FC booed when São Paulo F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Carlos Mineiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. Pedro Paulo de Azevedo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Leif Törnqvist went, in the 14th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. When Leif Törnqvist came up free with the goalie in the 16th minute, the SeleSantos FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Leif Törnqvist couldn't finish the play. Dinei Pinheiro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ronaldo Crispín in the 20th minute of play. After a rather tough play, SeleSantos FC's Wanderson Terra got a free kick in the 22nd minute. After 24 minutes, Jacobo Casado mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SeleSantos FC and the São Paulo F.C. players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 24 played minutes SeleSantos FC got a freekick which was hit by Jacobo Casado. SeleSantos FC's Dinei Pinheiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dirk Snabl in the 30th minute of play. Dinei Pinheiro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wanderson Melo in the 37th minute of play. São Paulo F.C.'s Pedro Paulo de Azevedo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jacobo Casado in the 41st minute of play. Jacobo Casado could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 43rd minute of the match, but Pedro Paulo de Azevedo made a huge save. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Dirk Snabl made a kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Dirk Snabl got free with Dinei Pinheiro in the 54th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Wanderson Melo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Dinei Pinheiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, São Paulo F.C.'s Wanderson Melo got a free kick in the 59th minute. The supporters of São Paulo F.C. booed when SeleSantos FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leif Törnqvist didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dinei Pinheiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Yaya Sow, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. In the 65th minute São Paulo F.C. were awarded a corner. Attila Keserű went to the cornerflag to take it. A nice corner shot did that Attila Keserű got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Dinei Pinheiro quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 71st minute, Jacobo Casado made a precise shot to the right of Pedro Paulo de Azevedo. São Paulo F.C.'s defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-0. The audience thought a goal was coming when Dirk Snabl got free with Dinei Pinheiro in the 75th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Dinei Pinheiro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dirk Snabl in the 76th minute of the match. João Pedro Ortiz kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. The supporters of São Paulo F.C. booed when SeleSantos FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aílton Seco didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dirk Snabl sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. If Niilo Mikkola had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Attila Keserű struck a weak shot in the 90th minute. Dinei Pinheiro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for São Paulo F.C.. Leif Törnqvist fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pedro Paulo de Azevedo having to interfere. SeleSantos FC were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of São Paulo F.C. for a fine match.
