Gonzalo Jurdan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 16th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, Nitra FC's José Pedro Sousa got a free kick in the 17th minute. In the 20th minute Gonzalo Jurdan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jerônimo Maranhense saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Oliver Veentjer fell near the penalty area in the 22nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Nitra FC's protests and gave Oliver Veentjer a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Nitra FC's Oliver Veentjer got a free kick in the 22nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gonzalo Jurdan in the 27th minute of play forced Nitra FC's goalkeeper Jerônimo Maranhense to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Gonzalo Jurdan made a kick off. Jerônimo Maranhense showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Remo Goiano, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. After some careless play in the Nitra FC defense, Severino Capixaba kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jerônimo Maranhense. The Nitra FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jerônimo Maranhense should have stopped the shot. The supporters of Nitra FC booed when XV de Piracicaba was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Murillo Trigo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Patrick Leite hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. 67 minutes into the match, Nitra FC's goal looked a bit too open when Remo Goiano came free, but Jerônimo Maranhense reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. José Pedro Sousa kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Nitra FC's zone, Wen Yong Sha stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jerônimo Maranhense came out of the goal and Wen Yong Sha tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Remo Goiano took the ball and in the 71 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jerônimo Maranhense. Jerônimo Maranhense dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. XV de Piracicaba made a substitution. Haruna Hassan replaced Remo Goiano. In the 75th minute Haruna Hassan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jerônimo Maranhense saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gonzalo Jurdans short, quick shot in the 76thth minute got Jerônimo Maranhense to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Jerônimo Maranhense made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gonzalo Jurdan in the 78th minute. In the 79th minute, Severino Capixaba had to be helped off the field due to a pulled leg muscle. Yuri Tutorskiy's late challenge caught a XV de Piracicaba's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Yuri Tutorskiy helped the player get up and apologised. XV de Piracicaba's Marcinho Loureiro was substituted for Severino Capixaba. In the 80th match minute, Nitra FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Yuri Tutorskiy to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to XV de Piracicaba getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Murillo Trigo hit a great ball. Jerônimo Maranhense showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mateus Pimenta in the 86th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Haruna Hassan in the 91st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jerônimo Maranhense prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched XV de Piracicaba eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
