Basilio Lain helped the player get up and apologised. Basilio Lain kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. If Eusébio Siqueira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Genílson Simões made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Niculae Maior in the 18th minute of play. After 22 played minutes Flying Dutch got a freekick which was hit by Jardel Pinheiro. After 29 played minutes Irreal Madrid got a freekick which was hit by Jânio Mendes. Luís Paulo Romero made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eugênio Goiano in the 31st minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eugênio Goiano in the 32nd minute of play forced Flying Dutch's goalkeeper Luís Paulo Romero to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Luís Paulo Romero showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eugênio Goiano in the 34th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eugênio Goiano in the 35th minute of play forced Flying Dutch's goalkeeper Luís Paulo Romero to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Genílson Simões made an important save on a dangerous shot by Alexsandro Tróia in the 41st minute. 43 minutes had been played when some careless play by Irreal Madrid's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Jardel Pinheiro was slow to take the kick. During this time Flying Dutch's players had a chance to rest. In the 45th minute, Alexsandro Tróia left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Flying Dutch fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jânio Mendes made a kick off. Luís Paulo Romero took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Valdir Varela, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Irreal Madrid booed when Flying Dutch was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eugênio Goiano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Irreal Madrid made a substitution. Acácio Baiano replaced Rodolfo Trigo. An unexpectedly hard shot by Acácio Baiano in the 74th minute of play forced Flying Dutch's goalkeeper Luís Paulo Romero to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Irreal Madrid's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Flying Dutch the free kick. In a very dangerous position, a player in Irreal Madrid fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 94th minute. Penalty! Genílson Simões had in the 96thth minute some difficulties stopping Jardel Pinheiro's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Macerio Cubria scored 3-2 in the 97th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Genílson Simões, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Irreal Madrid's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
