Spectators: 144 (Terracing: 109, Seating: 33, VIP seats: 2) Paulista F.C's Pedro Augusto Dionísio started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 2ndth minute of the game Dudu Madureira who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Paulista F.C's Kaká Goiano was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 4th minute, Luiz Eduardo Pimenta hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 5 minutes into the game, José Goiano lined in a short shot 1-0 behind a frustrated Geraldo Queiroz. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Dudu Madureira in the 15th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Kaká Goiano prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 16 minutes into the match, Paulista F.C's goal looked a bit too open when Joélson Melo came free, but Kaká Goiano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 19th minute Pedro Augusto Dionísio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Geraldo Queiroz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rockets's Geraldo Queiroz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 20th minute of the match, managed to save Rockets from getting a goal against them. The audience thought a goal was coming when José Goiano got free with Geraldo Queiroz in the 22nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A hard shot 26 in the game by Telmo Loyola from a close distance when the talented Geraldo Queiroz managed to make a qualified save. Rockets's players were relieved. Telmo Loyola scored 2-0 in the 27th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Geraldo Queiroz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dudu Madureira in the 30th minute of play forced Paulista F.C's goalkeeper Kaká Goiano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Paulista F.C's Andrézinho Sergipano got a free kick in the 37th minute. Kaká Goiano came out of the goal in the 39th minute to try and stop a shot by Rockets's Dudu Madureira. But to his dismay, Dudu Madureira quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. In the 42nd minute, Sandro Arantes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 44th minute, Dudu Madureira managed to get in a good position for a shot. Rockets's supporters rose to their feet, but Dudu Madureira was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Kaká Goiano breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The crowd rose to their feet as Paulista F.C's Telmo Loyola slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Geraldo Queiroz. That made the score 3-1 after 46 minutes of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Dudu Madureira to make the kick off. Paulista F.C's Kaká Goiano proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 52nd minute of the match, managed to save Paulista F.C from getting a goal against them. The crowd rose to their feet as Joélson Melo kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Kaká Goiano. That made the score 3-2 in the 52 minute of play. Geraldo Queiroz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pedro Augusto Dionísio, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. Nilton Simões kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. After 61 played minutes Rockets got a freekick which was hit by Valério Peres. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pedro Augusto Dionísio in the 62nd minute of play forced Rockets's goalkeeper Geraldo Queiroz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Rockets's zone, José Goiano stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Geraldo Queiroz came out of the goal and José Goiano tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 70th minute José Goiano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Geraldo Queiroz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Naldo Garcia fell near the penalty area in the 71st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Rockets's protests and gave Naldo Garcia a yellow card for diving instead. After 76 minutes Paulista F.C's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Joélson Melo who took care of the corner kick. 78 minutes into the game, Paulista F.C's Pedro Augusto Dionísio nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Geraldo Queiroz made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-3. If José Goiano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joélson Melo in the 88th minute of play forced Paulista F.C's goalkeeper Kaká Goiano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Andrézinho Sergipano kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. Geraldo Queiroz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from José Goiano in the 93rd minute of the match. José Goiano struck a weak shot in the 96th minute. Geraldo Queiroz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Paulista F.C. Paulista F.C's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
