In the 22nd minute, Adriano Tande ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Pedrão Furlan was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. After 27 played minutes Torino SSA got a freekick which was hit by Toninho da Fonseca. Nilson Duarte sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The audience thought a goal was coming when Nilson Duarte got free with Pedrão Furlan in the 52nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 87th minute, Víktor Guerra hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Through an outstanding action, after 93 minutes, Pedrão Furlan successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. The Torino SSA supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Independente FC's performance. The match ended with a win for Independente FC.
