Lidice's Vitinho Gaspar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arí Silva in the 32nd minute of play. Gildo Furtado made an important save on a dangerous shot by Johnny Van Hoeyvelt in the 36th minute. In the 39th minute of the match, Johnny Van Hoeyvelt got a very nice opportunity to score, but Gildo Furtado was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Lidice's Daniel Kvarnström got a good chance for a goal in the 39th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
