Bunda Lele made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edmund Balkiewicz in the 5th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Xandeco FC's zone, Chivu Quintana stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Guga de Azevedo came out of the goal and Chivu Quintana tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, Xandeco FC's Gilmar Velloso got a free kick in the 8th minute. Xandeco FC's Guga de Azevedo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 9th minute of the match, managed to save Xandeco FC from getting a goal against them. 10 minutes had been played when some careless play by Xandeco FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Luisão Ribeiro was slow to take the kick. During this time Remedios SC's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Luisão Ribeiro got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Guga de Azevedo quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 14th minute of the match Lino Vander shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Bunda Lele showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Xandeco FC were awarded a corner in the 16th minute after Remedios SC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Lino Vander took the corner. Wincent Wawro made a well adjusted shot against goal in the 19thth minute coming free in front of the goal, but Guga de Azevedo would not let the ball come through at any expense and made a nice save by the left post. In the 20th minute Nicolas Nóbrega shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bunda Lele saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 20th minute, Nicolas Nóbrega ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Bunda Lele was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Bunda Lele showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luiz Torres, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. Natanael Vale's late challenge caught a Xandeco FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Natanael Vale helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Xandeco FC booed when Remedios SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Natanael Vale didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 31st minute Remedios SC were awarded a corner. Luisão Ribeiro went to the cornerflag to take it. After taking down the ball on Remedios SC's corner Ricardo Magalhães fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Guga de Azevedo quite easily take care of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edmund Balkiewicz in the 37th minute of play forced Remedios SC's goalkeeper Bunda Lele to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Luiz Torres fell near the penalty area in the 40th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Xandeco FC's protests and gave Luiz Torres a yellow card for diving instead. After 40 played minutes Xandeco FC got a freekick which was hit by Luiz Torres. Wincent Wawro got in the 44th a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Guga de Azevedo handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Bernardinho Alagoano during the 47th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 47th minute, Bernardinho Alagoano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Edmund Balkiewicz to make the kick off. When Lino Vander came up free with the goalie in the 51st minute, the Xandeco FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lino Vander couldn't finish the play. In the 54th match minute, Xandeco FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gilmar Velloso to maneuver through the defense. 60 minutes into the game, Jeremias Luzea recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Bunda Lele. Jeremias Luzea showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-3. Guga de Azevedo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wincent Wawro in the 65th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wincent Wawro in the 70th minute of play forced Xandeco FC's goalkeeper Guga de Azevedo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 77 minutes into the match, Remedios SC's Ricardo Magalhães sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Guga de Azevedo narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Ricardo Magalhães fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Guga de Azevedo having to interfere. Xandeco FC's Dino Amorim was substituted for Luiz Torres. In the 83rd match minute, Xandeco FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gilmar Velloso to maneuver through the defense. Xandeco FC's Rüdiger Joinvilense was substituted for Hugo Vander. In the 84th match minute, Xandeco FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gilmar Velloso to maneuver through the defense. Eliseu Montenegro hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. With a little luck, Remedios SC's Bunda Lele got control of the ball when Edmund Balkiewicz tried to sneak it across the goal line. Xandeco FC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
