Edgard Cabral scored 1-0 in the 14th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Antoni Beninda, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Antoni Beninda showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edgard Cabral, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. Goiás Esporte Clube's Mané Quirino proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 90th minute of the match, managed to save Goiás Esporte Clube from getting a goal against them. When the match was over Vila Zumbi could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Goiás Esporte Clube throughout the match.
