The SAO JOANENSE FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. After a rather tough play, SAO JOANENSE FC's Dudu Palmeira got a free kick in the 7th minute. After 20 minutes of play, Gremio NG's Júnior Quintana made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Amadeu Lamego was left in no man's land by his defense there! Murillo Catarinense recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 23rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Dudu Palmeira during the 27th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Dudu Palmeira kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. After some careless play in the SAO JOANENSE FC defense, Júnior Quintana kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Amadeu Lamego. The SAO JOANENSE FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Amadeu Lamego should have stopped the shot. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Júnior Quintana in the 35th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Amadeu Lamego prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Guilherme Melo fell near the penalty area in the 36th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SAO JOANENSE FC's protests and gave Guilherme Melo a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Gremio NG booed when SAO JOANENSE FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Guilherme Melo didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Júnior Quintana in the 37th minute of play forced SAO JOANENSE FC's goalkeeper Amadeu Lamego to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Amadeu Lamego made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Júnior Quintana in the 39th minute of play. When Júnior Quintana fell near the penalty area in the 39th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Gremio NG's protests and gave Júnior Quintana a yellow card for diving instead. After 41 played minutes Gremio NG got a freekick which was hit by Dino do Vale. In the 42nd minute, SAO JOANENSE FC's Dudu Palmeira ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Fábio Pinheiro. Fábio Pinheiro yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 3-2. Dudu Palmeira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Luiz Fabiano Paraíba kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. Dudu Palmeira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of SAO JOANENSE FC booed when Gremio NG was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Raimundo Travassos didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Júnior Quintana got free with Amadeu Lamego in the 61st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 62nd minute Dudu Palmeira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fábio Pinheiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Amadeu Lamego showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Júnior Quintana in the 64th minute of the match. 66 minutes into the match, SAO JOANENSE FC's goalkeeper Amadeu Lamego had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Júnior Quintana. The audience thought a goal was coming when Júnior Quintana got free with Amadeu Lamego in the 66th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 67th minute, Raimundo Travassos got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 69th match minute, SAO JOANENSE FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Abelardo Carvalho to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Gremio NG getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Raimundo Travassos hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Murillo Catarinense in the 72nd minute of play forced Gremio NG's goalkeeper Fábio Pinheiro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. SAO JOANENSE FC's Amadeu Lamego proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 74th minute of the match, managed to save SAO JOANENSE FC from getting a goal against them. When the referee ended the match the SAO JOANENSE FC players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
