When the match clock showed 18 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Zlatan Gigant sped through Oshyros ll's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Fumo Pocock. After a defensive mix-up in United's zone, Djamel Autret stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sabahattin Erten came out of the goal and Djamel Autret tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Oshyros ll's Isaac Intxixu slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Sabahattin Erten. That made the score 1-1 after 23 minutes of play. 27 minutes into the match, Oshyros ll's goal looked a bit too open when Ernesto Vermudo came free, but Fumo Pocock reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sabahattin Erten took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sten Andrejević, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Isaac Intxixu got free with Sabahattin Erten in the 45th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.

The wind increased when Sten Andrejević made the kick off in the second half. When the match clock showed 86 minutes, the score became 4-4 when Florencio Oihan sped through Oshyros ll's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Fumo Pocock. A hard shot 89 in the game by Modesto Peirano from a close distance when the talented Fumo Pocock managed to make a qualified save. Oshyros ll's players were relieved. Djamel Autret might have been able to make a better finish in the 95th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Sabahattin Erten. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Djamel Autret ran back to his position shaking his head. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. United had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
