In the 3rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Club Atletico Fenix's goalkeeper Anders Larsson, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jacinto Olentzaro in the 5th minute of play forced Tabossi's goalkeeper Nery Pumpido to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Club Atletico Fenix's Jacinto Olentzaro, in the 6th minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Club Atletico Fenix. Club Atletico Fenix's Jacinto Olentzaro managed to work through Tabossi's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Jacinto Olentzaro dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. If Cecilio Seber had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Zenon Damazki made in the 15th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Tabossi's Ernesto Nalo. In the 16th match minute, Tabossi was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Albino Sabin to maneuver through the defense. Nery Pumpido took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jacinto Olentzaro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Nery Pumpido made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jacinto Olentzaro in the 22nd minute of play. Anders Larsson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ernesto Nalo in the 25th minute of the match. Zenon Damazki kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. 47 minutes into the match, Tabossi's goal looked a bit too open when Jacinto Olentzaro came free, but Nery Pumpido reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Tadeo Eneas stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the match, Club Atletico Fenix's goal looked a bit too open when Ramiro Isusko came free, but Anders Larsson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ramiro Isusko's late challenge caught a Club Atletico Fenix's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ramiro Isusko helped the player get up and apologised. In the 53rd match minute, Tabossi was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ramiro Isusko to maneuver through the defense. Nery Pumpido made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jacinto Olentzaro in the 56th minute. Club Atletico Fenix's Eskil Åkesson was substituted for Cecilio Seber. Club Atletico Fenix's Claudinei Nóbrega was substituted for Fabian Arenaza. Ezequiel Padro's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Nery Pumpido read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 68th minute of play. Tabossi made a substitution. Fausto Ganix replaced Fabio Ferman. Cipriano Ledesma struck a weak shot in the 74th minute. Nery Pumpido didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Club Atletico Fenix. Anders Larsson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rolando Botello, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. 77 minutes had been played when some careless play by Club Atletico Fenix's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Benedicto Lauro was slow to take the kick. During this time Tabossi's players had a chance to rest. Benedicto Lauro made a great header on Tabossi's corner, it was just that Club Atletico Fenix's Anders Larsson managed to reach the ball for a save. Nery Pumpido was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Club Atletico Fenix's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
