In the 9thth minute of the game Pepe Sand who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Stellenbosch's Pedro Pelayo was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. With a little luck, Pucará's Lautaro Morales got control of the ball when Osvaldo Bernat tried to sneak it across the goal line. Lautaro Morales was out of position in the 17 minute of play, and Osvaldo Bernat capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Osvaldo Bernat really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. The Pucará fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Lautaro Morales should have stopped the shot. Stellenbosch made a substitution. Luca Savini replaced Severo Mingo. In the 90th minute Flóki Cabezudo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lautaro Morales saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Pucará made a substitution. Horacio Rey replaced Dario Artizar. After a rather tough play, Pucará's Horacio Rey got a free kick in the 96th minute. Lautaro Morales showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Laureano Gora in the 97th minute of the match. Pucará's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Stellenbosch had won, even though Pucará had held more of the ball.
