Franja Dorada's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Igor Tartalo in the 42nd minute. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Silverio Jacob to make the kick off. The ball had pretty good speed, but Óscar Cordoba firmly grabbed it by the left post. After a rather tough play, Sporting de Gijón's Rune Fanström got a free kick in the 87th minute. The Sporting de Gijón supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Franja Dorada's performance. The match ended with a win for Franja Dorada.
