Sporting de Gijón's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. 38 minutes into the match, Clemen Team AFC★C.A.B.J★'s goal looked a bit too open when Diego Maradona came free, but Vihar Karadochev reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Paulino Cheche could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 42nd minute of the match, but Óscar Cordoba made a huge save. In the 46th match minute, Clemen Team AFC★C.A.B.J★ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Teodosio Ferrando to maneuver through the defense.

The supporters of Clemen Team AFC★C.A.B.J★ booed when Sporting de Gijón was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Óscar Cordoba showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Paulino Cheche, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute.
