The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Horaţiu Pintilie hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. 7 minutes into the match, FC PIETROSUL -MM-'s goalkeeper Niculae Rădvan had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lucian Stere. FC PIETROSUL -MM-'s Niculae Rădvan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zygmunt Dunajski in the 8th minute of play. In the 9th minute, Zygmunt Dunajski left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The FC Steaua Pildesti fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Lucian Stere could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 18th minute of the match, but Niculae Rădvan made a huge save. 18 minutes into the game, Lucian Stere recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Niculae Rădvan. Lucian Stere showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0. 21 minutes into the match, FC PIETROSUL -MM-'s goal looked a bit too open when Nicolae Barbu came free, but Niculae Rădvan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 24 minutes FC Steaua Pildesti's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Aurelian Odobescu who took care of the corner kick. After 25 minutes, Viorel Iacobescu made it 2-1 with a short kick to the right side. FC Steaua Pildesti's Marian Văduvescu tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Viorel Iacobescu hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. 30 minutes into the match, FC PIETROSUL -MM-'s goalkeeper Niculae Rădvan had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Filip Paulescu. Filip Paulescu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 30th minute of the match, but Niculae Rădvan made a huge save. In the 33rd minute, Viorel Iacobescu ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Marian Văduvescu was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. Marian Văduvescu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Aurelian Odobescu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Nicolae Barbu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 46th minute, Zygmunt Dunajski got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, FC Steaua Pildesti's Lucian Stere got a free kick in the 47th minute. FC PIETROSUL -MM- made a substitution. Sandu Porumbescu replaced Emilian Şoimaru. FC PIETROSUL -MM- made a substitution. Costin Pupăzan replaced Filip Braia. The score stood at 2-2 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The wind increased when Viorel Iacobescu made the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute, Sever Crăiniceanu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Niculae Rădvan stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Nicolae Barbu's shot from short distance in the 65th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zygmunt Dunajski in the 69th minute of play forced FC PIETROSUL -MM-'s goalkeeper Niculae Rădvan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 74th minute Viorel Iacobescu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marian Văduvescu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 77th minute, FC PIETROSUL -MM-'s Viorel Iacobescu dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-3. Niculae Rădvan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Filip Paulescu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 87th minute, FC PIETROSUL -MM-'s Cristi Ciprian dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-4. In the 90th match minute, FC PIETROSUL -MM- was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aurel Teodoroiu to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to FC Steaua Pildesti getting a freekick after 94 minutes play. Nae Griguță hit a great ball. In the 97th minute, Iulian Bobeanu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cristi Ciprian scored 2-5 in the 97th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Marian Văduvescu, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched FC PIETROSUL -MM- eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
