With a couple of smart ball manuevers Darwin Núñez in the 9th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Sorin Bobocea saved Balavanis from getting behind. A collision led to FC STEAUA BRAILA getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Bogdan Modano hit a great ball. Aron Hârțan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ionică Cucu in the 11th minute of the match. Korneliusz Kocieniewski received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Sorin Bobocea tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 23 minutes into the match, Balavanis's goal looked a bit too open when Darwin Núñez came free, but Sorin Bobocea reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a left leg Aron Hârțan saved FC STEAUA BRAILA from getting behind. 26 minutes into the match, FC STEAUA BRAILA's goal looked a bit too open when Alf Tanner came free, but Aron Hârțan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sorin Bobocea made an important save on a dangerous shot by Darwin Núñez in the 28th minute. If Reynaldo da Fonseca had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. Balavanis were awarded a corner in the 35th minute after FC STEAUA BRAILA's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Ionică Cucu took the corner. Nae Groșan hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. August Uibo took the ball and in the 43 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Sorin Bobocea. Sorin Bobocea dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. After a defensive mix-up in FC STEAUA BRAILA's zone, Alf Tanner stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Aron Hârțan came out of the goal and Alf Tanner tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Korneliusz Kocieniewski made a kick off. Sorin Bobocea showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Darwin Núñez, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. 63 minutes into the match, Korneliusz Kocieniewski had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Sorin Bobocea. Balavanis's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Korneliusz Kocieniewski was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. After 67 played minutes FC STEAUA BRAILA got a freekick which was hit by Darwin Núñez. 70 minutes into the match, Ferdinand Costa had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Aron Hârțan. FC STEAUA BRAILA's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ferdinand Costa was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-3. In the 73rdth minute of the game Alf Tanner who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FC STEAUA BRAILA's Aron Hârțan was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The audience was convinced that Reynaldo da Fonseca's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Sorin Bobocea was relentless in the 74th minute of the game. In the 76th minute of the match, Alf Tanner tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Aron Hârțan saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Aron Hârțan was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Ferdinand Costa showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-4 in the 78 minute of play. Balavanis made a substitution. Gheorghe Basarab replaced Ferdinand Costa. FC STEAUA BRAILA's Maurício Corrêa got a good chance for a goal in the 82nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, FC STEAUA BRAILA's Vali Buzescu got a free kick in the 86th minute. FC STEAUA BRAILA's Aron Hârțan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nae Groșan in the 87th minute of play. Aron Hârțan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gheorghe Basarab, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Through an outstanding action, after 94 minutes, Aron Hârțan successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. The Balavanis supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Balavanis would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
