The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 4 minutes into the match, Traian Traian notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Balaceanu UFC's Dorin Orghidan. Dorin Orghidan was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Dorin Orghidan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Traian Traian, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Genaro Montez made a fantastic save in the 16th minute, when Dorin Zăreanu sent off a good shot on target. Iustinian Burdujan could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 19th minute of the match, but Genaro Montez made a huge save. If Traian Traian had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Dorin Orghidan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Traian Traian, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Through an outstanding action, after 31 minutes, Genaro Montez successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. In the 39th minute Traian Traian shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dorin Orghidan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dorin Orghidan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Traian Traian in the 43rd minute of play. Fotbal Club Vaslui's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Javier Montes in the 45th minute. When Traian Traian came up free with the goalie in the 47th minute, the Fotbal Club Vaslui fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Traian Traian couldn't finish the play.

After having played for 56 minutes, Traian Traian managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Fotbal Club Vaslui's supporters crossed their fingers, but Traian Traian was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Fotbal Club Vaslui's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Javier Montes in the 60th minute. Teodor Huștiu made a great header on Fotbal Club Vaslui's corner, it was just that Balaceanu UFC's Dorin Orghidan managed to reach the ball for a save. Genaro Montez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Iustinian Burdujan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Genaro Montez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Roch Bury in the 69th minute of play. Wellington Neves might have been able to make a better finish in the 71st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Dorin Orghidan. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Wellington Neves ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Roch Bury in the 72nd minute of play forced Fotbal Club Vaslui's goalkeeper Genaro Montez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Fotbal Club Vaslui's Radu Ispas got a free kick in the 74th minute. A collision led to Fotbal Club Vaslui getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Radu Ispas hit a great ball. Dorin Orghidan made an important save on a dangerous shot by Traian Traian in the 79th minute. 81 minutes into the game, Traian Traian cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-4. Dorin Orghidan was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Fotbal Club Vaslui's Matías Azevedo was substituted for Traian Traian. Matías Azevedo struck a weak shot in the 86th minute. Dorin Orghidan didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Fotbal Club Vaslui. Dorin Orghidan made a fantastic save in the 89th minute, when Matías Azevedo sent off a good shot on target. Genaro Montez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Roch Bury in the 95th minute of the match. The Fotbal Club Vaslui supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Fotbal Club Vaslui would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
