Javier Montes was slow to take the kick. During this time Fotbal Club Vaslui's players had a chance to rest. Traian Traian hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. 18 minutes into the game, Fotbal Club Vaslui's Traian Traian nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Fotbal Club Vaslui's Genaro Montez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ricardo-Enrique Bochini in the 31st minute of play. After a rather tough play, Fotbal Club Vaslui's Filip Aanicăi got a free kick in the 63rd minute. Fotbal Club Vaslui's Marcu Piţurcă was substituted for Gică Hăulică. Olimpiu Rizea's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Genaro Montez firmly grabbed it by the left post. Fotbal Club Vaslui's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
