Sliema Dragons FC's Barrie Kerridge played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Enzo Luongo in the 34th minute of play. When Leszek Cupial came up free with the goalie in the 45th minute, the Sliema Dragons FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Leszek Cupial couldn't finish the play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

After a defensive mix-up in Sliema Dragons FC's zone, Enzo Luongo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Barrie Kerridge came out of the goal and Enzo Luongo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Sliema Dragons FC's Kim Bolas in the 62nd minute got a chance for a shot 62nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie.
