But to his dismay, Nuralp Akbal quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Manuel Campens took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Themos Leontiadis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Nuralp Akbal got free with Erik Vale in the 10th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Uwe Birmes received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Erik Vale came out and tried to block the shot, but Uwe Birmes slotted it home off the left post making it 2-0 in the 15th minute. Erik Vale made a fantastic save in the 17th minute, when Nuralp Akbal sent off a good shot on target. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Nuralp Akbal in the 21st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Erik Vale prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 28thth minute of the game Nuralp Akbal who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Panionios MK's Erik Vale was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Pagos FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Mircea Teodor in the 29th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Nuralp Akbal got free with Erik Vale in the 30th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Allan Corrigan struck a weak shot in the 38th minute. Manuel Campens didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Panionios MK.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Nuralp Akbal made a kick off. 51 minutes into the match, Panionios MK's goal looked a bit too open when Nuralp Akbal came free, but Erik Vale reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
