Enzo De Nicola showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Léon Monnet in the 40th minute of the match. In the 41st minute of the match Herblay got a corner. AC Roma's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Holger Duusgaard ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led Herblay's Holger Duusgaard to fire away a dangerous shot which Enzo De Nicola despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Alvaro Sforza scored 1-1 in the 43rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ludomil Kajdasz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Luiz Paulo Leão kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Léon Monnet stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute of the match Herblay got a corner. In the 56th match minute, AC Roma was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Javier Della Francesca to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Herblay booed when AC Roma was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Javier Della Francesca didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ludomil Kajdasz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alvaro Sforza, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. Léon Monnet scored 1-2 in the 65th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Enzo De Nicola, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Herblay's Norbert Cadart was substituted for Jean-François Degrémont. After 72 minutes of play, AC Roma's Alvaro Sforza made it 2-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ludomil Kajdasz was left in no man's land by his defense there! The audience thought a goal was coming when Antonin Dagorne got free with Enzo De Nicola in the 75th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ludomil Kajdasz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alvaro Sforza in the 77th minute of play. 79 minutes into the match, Javier Della Francesca notched a goal, 3-2, to the right of Herblay's Ludomil Kajdasz. Ludomil Kajdasz was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After some fancy dribbling in the 82nd minute, Alvaro Sforza managed to get in a good position for a shot. With a left leg Ludomil Kajdasz saved Herblay from getting behind. The supporters of Herblay booed when AC Roma was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mihai Daimacă didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ludomil Kajdasz didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Javier Della Francesca went, in the 94th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-2 was the resulting score. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The AC Roma fans cheered their team off the field, for while Herblay had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
