Igor Akinfeev made a fantastic save in the 13th minute, when Jan Persson sent off a good shot on target. After a defensive mix-up in Voskresensk FC's zone, Jan Persson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Igor Akinfeev came out of the goal and Jan Persson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Voskresensk FC's Igor Akinfeev proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 16th minute of the match, managed to save Voskresensk FC from getting a goal against them. With a little luck, Voskresensk FC's Igor Akinfeev got control of the ball when Jan Persson tried to sneak it across the goal line. Jan Persson blasted a shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Igor Akinfeev having to make a save. After a rather tough play, Voskresensk FC's Dmitry Alenichev got a free kick in the 23rd minute. Igor Akinfeev made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jan Persson in the 24th minute. In the 28th match minute, Voskresensk FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vadim Basmannikov to maneuver through the defense. Jan Persson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jan Persson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Igor Akinfeev having to interfere. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Vadim Basmannikov made a kick off. 51 minutes into the game, Jan Persson cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-0. Igor Akinfeev was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When the match clock showed 54 minutes, the score became 5-0 when Jan Persson sped through Voskresensk FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Igor Akinfeev. Igor Akinfeev made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gusztáv Bács in the 57th minute of play. In the 59th minute of the match VC zoetwater got a corner. Voskresensk FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Armand De Hoef ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Robert Wells got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Igor Akinfeev quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Maksim Ilyuhin kicked well hit freekick during the 63rd minute of the match. Jan Persson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Igor Akinfeev having to interfere. 73 minutes into the match, Voskresensk FC's goal looked a bit too open when Jan Persson came free, but Igor Akinfeev reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jan Persson might have been able to make a better finish in the 75th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Igor Akinfeev. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jan Persson ran back to his position shaking his head. 75 minutes into the match, Voskresensk FC's goal looked a bit too open when Jan Persson came free, but Igor Akinfeev reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Igor Akinfeev tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 90 minutes into the game, Bo Bo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. VC zoetwater's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Voskresensk FC the free kick. Bo Bo kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. Jan Persson blasted a shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Igor Akinfeev having to make a save. In the 93rd minute Jan Persson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Igor Akinfeev saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. VC zoetwater's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
